Job Centers, also known as One-Stop Career Centers, are regional centers that offer innovative employment and training services and resources to businesses, job seekers, and young adults. Each Center brings together various organizations and agencies, both public and private, in one place for the benefit of both employers and job seekers. Resources may include workshops and classes, resource rooms with computer and Internet access, labor market information access, and referrals to additional services and programs.

Job Center Services & Resources

Resource Room

If you're looking for resources, information and tools to help you with your job search, stop by your Job Center's Resource Room. You have free access to computers with Internet, printers, fax machines, phones, and other useful employment materials to help you in your job search.

Workshops & Classes

Choose from a variety workshops and classes to help you tune up on skills or prepare for your job search. Most workshops are free and just require pre-registration. Topics include: resume and cover letter preparation, interviewing and networking to find employment, basic computer skills, money management, and more. Current employment opportunities can be accessed online at www.jobcenterofwisconsin.com or via job listings and catalogs at your local Job Center.

Labor Market Information

Access current labor market information, such as industry trends, wage rate data, occupational information, employment statistics, employer locator tools, and available training and apprenticeship programs across the state. You can also access Wisconsin labor market information online at WORKnet, Wisconsin's workforce and labor market information system.

Special Services through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA)

Additional employment and training related services are available to individuals that meet certain eligibility guidelines associated with the WIA Adult, WIA Dislocated Worker and WIA Youth Programs. Services can include job search assistance, individual career guidance and counseling, labor market information, training and skill upgrades, and more. You may qualify for the program if you meet specific income guidelines and other eligibility factors. Sign up for a WIA orientation to learn more.
