We're working with workforce and education partners across the region to bring you information about local training opportunities in areas including advanced manufacturing, agriculture, biotechnology, construction/energy efficiency, and health care. Short-term training opportunities will vary based on availability and other factors.

Skill Centers


Looking to tune up on skills related to math, reading, writing, or even computer basics? We've partnered with Madison College and Moraine Park Technical College to offer Workplace Skill Centers designed to help you prepare for a career. Open lab times and classes are available so that you can get instruction in any subject, ask questions, and practice the new skills you are learning.

 


Workshops


WorkSmart and the South Central Wisconsin Job Center partners offer more than 40 unique workshops and classes to help you prepare for your career. Click on the "Calendar" icon to your right to view workshop offerings in your area.

 


Career Academies


Career Academies are short-term training programs designed for laid-off workers to ladder into an academic program or new career. Academies are designed to help those interested in taking degree-credit college courses with a cohort in an accelerated format. Technical College Programs


Technical colleges are a great place to enhance your existing skill set or to discover a new career pathway.

 

  • Madison College offers more than 140 programs and certificates throughout South Central Wisconsin, at campuses in Madison, Fort Atkinson, Portage, Reedsburg, and Watertown.

 

  • Moraine Park Technical College offers more than 110 degrees, certificates and apprenticeships in traditional classroom and on-line formats. Campus locations include Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac and West Bend with regional centers also located in Hartford and Ripon.

 

 

Individual Training Accounts (ITA)


Training services may be available to eligible individuals who don’t find a job after receiving core and intensive services through WorkSmart’s Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program. Sign up for a WorkSmart orientation to learn more about eligibility for WIA programs.
